How to make an SD/microSD card holder by 3D printing

Updated: Jul 5, 2018

Today we use SD cards as well as microSD cards for many things from cameras to miniPCs and how we can keep all of them in place is such a pain in the ass. Thus, I came up with a design to solve this problem. Now, let's get started!

1. Design

2. Materials and printed parts

All my printed parts can be found here: SD card and micro SD card holder

  • Material

1x Transparent acrylic (WxLxH = 111x73.5x2mm)

1x Black acrylic (WxLxH = 114.5x75.5x2mm)

  • Printed parts:

1x Part_01

2x Part_02

1x Part_03

1x Part_04

1x Part_05

1x Part_06

3. Assemble

After printing all 6 parts, you have to use super glue to attach all of them to the black acrylic sheet.

Here are how to assemble it:

I also use the flexible magnet to keep the cap in place.

4. Result

With this design, your SD and micro SD cards will be kept safely. One of the cool features is you have the place to label each of them. This box can keep up to 6 SD cards and 5 micro SD cards and you can hold it in your hand.

Have fun!
